The Department of Soil and Crop Science is a world leader in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, and Soil and Water Science teaching, research, and extension faculty who work to solve some of the greatest challenges facing humanity including sustainable food production, climate change, and soil security.

Mission
The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences advances the science, stewardship, and sustainable management of soil, crop, and water systems through excellence in teaching, research, service, and extension. We educate future leaders, generate rigorous and innovative science, and deliver practical solutions that serve agriculture, natural resources, stakeholders, and the public good in Texas and beyond.
