  • Water-limited agriculture

Professional Summary

Research Focus: My research will focus on sustainable practices for water-limited crops and forages such as corn, sorghum, and small grains (wheat and triticale) that are primarily used by beef and dairy operations in the Texas Panhandle region. I will also work with drought tolerant crops such as grain sorghum and cotton that further enhance management practices that are economically viable while conserving limited groundwater resources. Research efforts will also focus on weed management strategies to help preserve limited stored soil moisture and increase crop yields in irrigated and dryland production systems.

Extension program: My Extension programs will focus on water-limited crop production, forages, and weed management. Extension efforts will also include planning educational meetings, County Extension agent training, address regional agronomic and production issues, host plot tours, and conduct variety trials in the Texas Panhandle.
