Professional Summary

Research focus:
My research focuses on understanding the structural and organizational features of plant genomes using molecular cytogenetic approaches, including FISH, GISH, Oligo-FISH, chromosome mapping, and classical cytology. I am particularly interested in applying these insights to the development of new crop germplasm and ornamental plants by linking genome structure with practical applications in breeding and genomics.
The Plant Cytogenomics and Microdissection Laboratory is a newly established facility within the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences, Texas A&M AgriLife Research. The laboratory serves as a core research facility supporting students and researchers across the Texas A&M University campus and collaborates with researchers statewide and nationally, as appropriate.
