The Soil and Crop Sciences Department at Texas A&M University offers a wide range of online education opportunities. The plant breeding distance education program offers online Masters and Ph.D. degrees in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, and Soil Science. Additionally, the Regulatory Science in Food Systems program, administered by the Office of the Texas State Chemist, provides professional development in the field of regulatory science through an online graduate Certificate in Regulatory Science in Food Systems or online professional development courses.
Plant Breeding
As the global population increases, providing food, fiber and fuel to meet growing demand has become a significant challenge. We are one of the top tier U.S. universities training future plant breeders to meet this challenge and have expanded our effort through our Distance Education Program in Plant Breeding.
We seek to alleviate hunger and poverty through the genetic improvement of plants while educating and developing plant breeders worldwide.

Soil Science
Food security and sustainability begin in the soil. Toward this end, our faculty research soil microbiology, chemistry, pedology, physics, fertility and more.
Our graduate students go on to influence soil health, policy, sustainability, food security and more.
