Undergraduate Admissions
Incoming Freshmen Admissions
Students wishing to become a Plant and Environmental Soil Science or Turfgrass Science major must meet the requirements for admission into Texas A&M University and have that major listed as their first or second choice.
The Department of Soil and Crop Sciences does not have specific requirements for incoming freshmen.
Transfer Student Admissions
Students wishing to transfer into the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences from another academic institution should visit the Office of Admissions website for application information. When submitting your application, please be sure to explain why you would like to major in Plant and Environmental Soil Science or Turfgrass Science.
Students wishing to transfer into the department should follow the transfer course sheet guidelines.
Change of Major Admissions
Current Texas A&M University students looking to transfer into our department through a change of major must submit a Change of Major request form.
Change of Major forms are specific to each degree, and include specific requirements that must be reviewed and met prior to submitting the form.
Graduate Admissions
Interested graduate students must submit their application, along with required materials through the Texas A&M University GraduateCAS. A full list of program requirements can be found on each degree program page.
Readmission into Undergraduate and Graduate Programs
Students who were previously enrolled in a degree-granting program at Texas A&M and did not complete their program of study can apply for readmission to the university. For more information on readmission to Texas A&M University, visit admissions.tamu.edu/apply/readmit. Additionally, students seeking readmission are encouraged to reach out to an advisor at [email protected].
Scholarships and Financial Aid
Students at Texas A&M get a world-class education at a reasonable cost—and graduate with far less college-related debt than their peers at other universities. We award approximately $85,000 in scholarships annually to undergraduate students in the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences and support graduate students through assistantships and fellowships, travel and research grants. This funding is made possible by donors and supporters of the department including former students, family and friends, former faculty and industry sponsors.
