Research. As the State Cropping Systems Specialist, my program develops and evaluates cropping systems with emphasis on dryland and limited irrigation grain sorghum and corn rotations. In addition to feed grains, my program evaluates bioenergy crops and management practices to develop sustainable bioenergy cropping systems. I also provide leadership for the State Grain Sorghum and Corn Hybrid Testing Program. Current and upcoming sorghum and corn hybrids are evaluated at 12 locations throughout Texas to provide growers and the grain industry unbiased information on hybrid performance. Systems and agronomic practices identified through research and disseminated through Extension and outreach programs contribute to increased productivity and profitability for farmers in Texas and beyond.
