Description
Paramount Country Club located in New City, New York is seeking a team-oriented, highly motivated individual to join as Senior Assistant Superintendent. Under the Superintendent's supervision, the Senior Assistant Superintendent helps manage the golf course maintenance and clubhouse grounds departments’ day-to-day activities through maintaining high quality standards, developing and retaining maintenance employees, and exceeding member expectations. A special emphasis will be on scheduling, staff management and collaboration with the Golf Course Superintendent on agronomic programming. Annually recognized by Golf Week as one of the Best Classic Courses, winner of Golf Magazine's Best US Private Renovation and included in the prestigious Confidential Guide by Tom Doak; this A.W. Tillinghast course presents perhaps his widest variety of challenging holes. The Club is dedicated to ensuring that the selected candidate will have a great work-life balance with guaranteed time off each week during all seasons. Initial Priorities of the Position: Assist in the planning, scheduling, and supervising the maintenance of: putting greens, tees, fairways, roughs, bunkers, and associated support facilities. Supervise training and instructs equipment operators in the safe, efficient operation and care of all equipment. Supervises and participates in the operation and maintenance of pumps, irrigation, and drainage systems. Assists in personnel management of the maintenance staff and is responsible for scheduling and supervising maintenance work to achieve the most efficient utilization of workers and equipment. Reports directly to the Golf Course Superintendent and may serve in the Superintendent's capacity during his/her absence. Help manage crew in all aspects of maintenance Assist in application of chemicals and fertilizer Assist in managing moisture on all playing surfaces with special attention to putting green surfaces Compensation and Benefits: $80,000- $95,000 per year Individual Health insurance Is covered 75/25. Housing for the right candidate, essentially a studio apartment with no kitchen. Meals when club is open. Uniform allowance. Continuing education. METGCSA and GCSAA Membership and attendance at local conferences. Golfing Privileges
Qualifications
Success Traits of Individual: The successful candidate must be a strong leader and team player with logical and effective decision-making skills to manage accordingly and in alignment with the direction set by the Superintendent. Team builder - It is important to manage team members with respect and appreciation. Exudes confidence and willingness to continue to learn. Passion for the game of golf, and is able to relate to the daily golfer. Education and Experience: Graduate of Certificate, 2 or 4 year turf program. 2-3 years as an assistant, second assistant or intern at a similar high-end facility.
