- Ph.D. graduate research assistantship in either the Department of Soil and Crop Sciences at Texas A&M University (College Station) or the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences at Texas Tech University (Lubbock) in the area of soil health in organic cropping systems.
Project focuses on quantifying changes to soil chemical and biulogical properties from increasing cropping system diversity in multiple locations across Texas ( Lubbock and Vernon ).
This student will work with a team of soil scientists and agronomists located across Texas, including collaboration with Texas A&M AgriLife Research.
Applicants should hold a MS in Soil Science, Agronomy or a related field. Experience with agronomic systems, soil chemical and biological measurements, and statistics (SAS or R) are preferred but not required.
The assistantship carries an annual salary and individual health insurance through Texas A&M University is provided.
This position requires travel to research fields, and a valid driver license is mandatory.
Candidates should be self-motivated with strong communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to work both individually and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
