Plant Breeding Internships at Texas A&M University College Station, Texas
Plant Breeding Internships are designed to introduce plant breeding techniques used in agronomic and horticultural crops of Texas and provide hands on experience in such techniques as pollination, phenotype selection, cultural practices and molecular genotyping.
Eligibility: undergraduate students interested in plant breeding. Students should be juniors or seniors with an overall GPA of 3.0 or 3.25 in their major.
Students will rotate through a number of plant breeding programs on the campus of Texas A&M University during these summer internships. These may include cotton, corn, sorghum, roses, peach, melons, potato, pepper, wheat, and perennial grasses. Rotations may include molecular labs extracting DNA and genotyping germplasm.
Dates: Flexible but approximately 18 May through 28 August.
Salary: up to $ 9.00 per hour.
