Research.
1) Understanding of the environmental fate of commonly used herbicides and their metabolites by conducting laboratory
experiments that will determine relative adsorption, mobility, volatility, degradation, and uptake from soil, water and plants;
2) Compare off-site movement (surface runoff and leaching) of herbicides applied within various agronomic situations;
3) Develop methodology that would facilitate safe and efficient analysis of pesticides from soil, water, and plant material.
