Research. Develop a better understanding of soil chemical processes that impact the reactions of plant nutrients and environmental pollutants in soils, as a basis for management for improved environmental quality and land and agricultural sustainability.
Teaching. Courses at the graduate level present the fundamental principals soil chemistry, soil mineralogy and soil analysis and the application of these principles to solving problems of environmental soil and water quality, food security, and global, land and agricultural sustainability.
