The goals for my program are to conduct up-to-date scientific research in a manner that is capable of providing solutions to many of the challenges of the Texas Turfgrass Industry. Specific research areas in my program include investigating the impacts of reduced water use and water quality, determining the impacts of shade on plant health, evaluating new and current products for controlling difficult turfgrass weeds, and investigating herbicide resistance in Texas. The extension goals of my program are to create extension materials that assist turfgrass managers, Texas A&M Agrilife county agents and master gardeners, and citizens in solving many of the problems they face when managing Texas turfgrasses. I am also responsible for speaking on assorted educational topics at events hosted by Texas A&M Agrilife Extension and various Texas turfgrass industry associations.
