Specialty：Wheat and oilseed crops
My program focuses on agronomic crop production of west central and far west Texas. This includes dryland and irrigated production of row crops (cotton, grain sorghum, sesame, corn, etc.), small grains (wheat, oats, barley), and forages (perennial warm season grasses, annual warm and cool season grasses, and alfalfa). I work closely with producer and commodity groups, industry and chemical companies, and County Extension staff to provide research based production information to producers and solve to production problems. My applied research and demonstration projects annually include variety trials, management practice evaluations, pest and disease control, fertility, irrigation management, and salinity management.
