- BIO-WEST seeks to employ a water quality technician ASAP to fill a temporary entry-level position in its Rosenberg, Texas, office. The technician will assist with daily duties to document regulatory compliance. To do so, individuals will navigate around the greater Houston area to identify participants and collect samples from residences, businesses, and schools. Duties include accurate scheduling, documentation and data management. Ultimately, this position will provide environmental regulatory compliance experience and an introduction to many other facets of environmental consulting. This could become a full-time position, based on performance and need at the end of the temporary term (December 31, 2016).
SkillsAccurate documentation; dependable, safe driving; computer experience with MS Office suite and Google Earth; and phone/tablet app utilization.
- Interest in environmental sciences (e.g., biology, ecology, chemistry, water quality). Must be able to conduct field work, properly document and manage daily schedules/activities, provide clear and concise communication, lift 10–20 pounds repeatedly, file documents, and work outside of the normal business hours of 8:00 am–5:00 pm, including weekends. Must possess a valid driver’s license, have a satisfactory driving record, and allow record review for the past 3 years.
